Physiotherapists

Bill Maher

Bill is the owner of Wedgewood Physiotherapy where he has been practicing since 1991. He graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 1991. He is currently a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy, having obtained the Advanced Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy in 2004. His physiotherapy practice involves all types of orthopedic conditions and sports injuries. His treatment focus is manual and manipulative therapy, but he has a varied post graduate education involving many more areas including acupuncture and dry needling, therapeutic exercise, and sports injuries. Outside of work, Bill is a high school hockey coach. He obtained his Level 1 Hockey Canada High Performance certification in 2015.

Laura Neville

Laura is a graduate of both the University of Toronto, where she received her Bachelor of Science of Physical Therapy in 1999, and Memorial University of Newfoundland where she received her Bachelor of Science of Psychology in 1995. She is currently a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy since completing the Advanced Diploma of Manual and Manipulative Therapy in 2003. Laura has been practicing in clinical orthopedic physiotherapy since graduating with her physiotherapy degree and has taken a variety of courses including assessment and treatment of running injuries, TMJ, spinal pain and dysfunction, dry needling, stability training and neural tension.

Josh Hurley

Josh completed his MSc. Physiotherapy in 2014 at University College Dublin. Since then, he has been working towards his certification in Manual and Manipulative therapy through the Orthopedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. He has recently completed his Intermediate Practical Exam along with Levels 4 and 5, and is currently preparing for his advanced exams. Josh also has a special interest in concussion management and continues his education to stay up to date on current treatment recommendations. Outside of work he likes to stay active through sport and has been involved in the hockey world for most of his life.

Skye Fisher

Skye received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Memorial University in 2013 and Master of Science in Clinical Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in 2015. She has since completed multiple courses working towards her Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. Skye is certified in level 1 and 2 Functional Dry Needling through Acupuncture Canada. She is a rock climber and former competitive cross-country runner. Skye enjoys working with the local climbing community and is the team physiotherapist for the Newfoundland Junior Climbing Team as well as the Cove Youth Bouldering Program. She has completed Jared Vagy’s Rock Rehab climbing physiotherapy course series. Skye also plays Ultimate frisbee recreationally and often works with local Tempest Ultimate team athletes. She is passionate about helping people of all backgrounds feel educated and empowered to improve their injuries. Skye often uses hands on techniques to complement a therapeutic exercise program to help patients achieve their best outcomes.

Steph Nevin (Maternity Leave)

Steph is a graduate of both Memorial University of Newfoundland, where she received her Bachelor of Kinesiology, and Dalhousie University where she received her Master’s in Science of Physical Therapy. She is working towards completing her Diploma of Advanced Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy and is certified to administer dry needling through Acupuncture Canada. Outside the clinic, Steph is an avid triathlete and runner and coaches triathlon at the Canada Games level. She has completed further courses in rehab and prevention of injury in runners.

Tracey Greene

Originally from Nova Scotia, Tracey moved to St. John’s in 2008 and has been practicing at Wedgewood physiotherapy ever since. Tracey attended Dalhousie University initially completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2003. After working in the industry for a year, she then went on to complete her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 2007. Tracey has since completed post graduate courses working towards her diploma of advanced orthopedic manual and manipulative physiotherapy, vestibular rehabilitation and is also trained in acupuncture and dry needling.

Greg Ireland

Greg completed a Bachelor of Science in Physiology & Sports Science from the University of Glasgow in 2015. He qualified with a Masters in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2019. During his time in Glasgow, he also completed a Diploma in Sports Massage with additional training as an OTAGO Strength and Balance Leader. Greg relocated to St. John's from Glasgow in 2019. He is working towards his Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. He also has post graduate training in dry needling and is a GLAD certified therapist – running group classes for patients with hip and knee arthritis. Outside of work, Greg has been involved with soccer, being a previous member of the Fieldians Challenge Cup team.

Kathryn Bautista

Kathryn graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Memorial University in 2014, and with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2016. She started working at Wedgewood Physio in 2017. Kathryn is completing courses towards her Diploma of Advanced Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. She has also completed the Level 1 and Level 2 Dry Needling Program with Acupuncture Canada, and courses for treating patients with neurological conditions through the Canadian Bobath Instructors Association and LSVT Global. She is certified in LSVT BIG, a standardized treatment protocol for people with Parkinson’s Disease and other neurological conditions.

At Wedgewood Physio, Kathryn sees patients with orthopedic injuries as well as patients with neurological conditions. She also does exercise-based physiotherapy programs for healthy aging and falls prevention in older adults. Through her experience as a gymnast and as a track and field athlete and coach, Kathryn has developed a special interest in treating athletes involved in these sports.

Hannah Noseworthy

Hannah, a graduate with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University, is trained in vestibular rehabilitation, dry needling, and holds SPC First Responder certification. She has a special interest in treating sports and orthopedic injuries, and is a certified GLA:D instructor, conducting classes throughout the year at the clinic. A former varsity soccer player, Hannah now actively participates in sports such soccer, hockey, and volleyball. She is also heavily involved in coaching within the province, serving as an assistant coach with the Memorial Seahawks Women's Soccer team and several other youth soccer teams provincially.

Nick Button

Nick is from St. John’s, NL, where he graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2017. While completing his studies, he worked as a physiotherapy assistant and was a coach/trainer for the O'Donel boys basketball team. He went on to attend Dalhousie University where he completed his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy. Nick has completed his level 1 manual therapy exam and upper quadrant level 2 manual therapy course with the orthopedic division of the CPA. He is also certified in Dry Needling Level with Acupuncture Canada. He has further plans to take additional courses in these areas. His treatment approach involves exercise, manual therapy, dry needling, and education. He values creating meaningful relationships and aims to work collaboratively with his clients to develop a treatment plan that aligns with their goals that enables them to resume the activities/sports they enjoy recreationally or competitively. In his spare time Nick enjoys running, resistance training, yoga, basketball, and spending time with friends and family.

Massage Therapists

Stacey Dunne

Stacey graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Eastern Academy in 2018. She is in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland and Labrador (CMTNL) as well as the Newfoundland and Labrador Massage Therapy Association (NLMTA).

She was born and raised in St. John’s, NL and comes from an athletic background of being a competitive cheerleader for 16 years. She also has a love for soccer, hiking and going to the gym. Stacey enjoys helping clients achieve their goals and making them feel their best. She is certified in cupping therapy and perinatal professional development.

Caitlyn Hill

Caitlyn hails from the Fundy Shore in Nova Scotia and moved to St. John's in 2003 to pursue a degree at Memorial University. Her education experience focused on Physical Anthropology, culminating in an Honours project in Comparative Forensic Osteology in 2009 which trained her to assess skeletal remains for identifying characteristics.

In 2011 she decided to attend the Registered Massage Therapy program at Academy Canada, earning her license in the fall of 2013, and she has proudly been practising full-time at Wedgewood Physiotherapy ever since.

Caitlyn has additional training in soft/hard cupping, as well as Graston Technique.

As of 2023, she has been studying Psychology part-time and expects to expand her education and qualifications at the master’s level.

Kinesiologist

Kristyn Lee

Kristyn is a graduate of Memorial University where she received a bachelor of Kinesiology Degree. She assists in instructing the GLA:D program throughout the year for knee and hip osteoarthritis. She is a former player of the Holy Cross Crusader and Memorial Seahawks Women's Soccer team, and is now actively involved in coaching a youth soccer team in the province. Kristyn is also involved in SoccerFit- an injury prevention program for youth athletes at the GC Sports Centre. Outside of work she likes to remain active through sport, weight training, and being outdoors.
